This moth is native to North America and are the largest native silk moths of its kind. Females have been found to have a wingspan of five to seven inches. These moth’s thrive in the Rocky Mountains and many other mountainous regions in the eastern parts of the US.

The original painting is 9x12 inches. Painted on watercolor paper, it was created using gouache, watercolor, ink and graphite.
